Just a view of what the deep cradled boxes look like as a grouping... There is a real felling about seeing them like this that even surprised me..

My new Birch boxes before I gesso to begin the paintings..

These are my new Birch wood panel boxes. 6"X6" & 6"X8" by 1 3/4 inch in-depth. The name "cradled" is the description given to this type of box. I varnishing the sides then gesso the front birch wood with three coats, sand then apply an oil base primer, when that is dry the painting begins. Yes, its a bit of overkill but each painting is archival and that means a lot to me. I supply a screw and a grove in the frame for easy flush to the wall hanging, no framing is needed. The boxes are made by Chris at www.paintonthis.com I happen to use this size but Chris can make probably anything, good guy to work with... I get no money to hype him but the joy of sharing...

Princess & Buddy are sister and brother, two of the best cat's around.

My wife and I have had them since they were five weeks old. Now they are nine years old and have never broken, scratched or damaged a thing in our home. People always say how mellow and affectionate they are and I have to think it is because of the home in which they have grown-up in. They come when we called and buddy "the black one" follows me around like a puppy and princess "the tabby" has me wrapped around her paw, her "Meow" is my command.
